Content knowledge is a foundation of good teaching. In order for instruction to be most effective, the teacher must possess a deep understanding of the material being presented. Not only is it essential for the teacher to know the content but also how to teach the material in the most effective methods.
During my time at Bridgewater College, I have had the opportunity to expand my knowledge of the most effective teaching practices in math, reading, writing, science, and social studies. My understanding of the core content areas is shown through my scores on the licensure tests required by the State of Virginia. My score reports for the RVE, and Praxis II are attached below. |
